Years ago a young lunberjack asked the foreman of a logging crew for a job. The foreman replied, "Well, let's see if you're good enough to work for me. Cut down that tree." The young man stepped forward and skillfully cut the tree down. The foreman was impressed and exclaimed, "You can start Monday!"
Monday, Tuesday, Wenesday and Thursday rolled by. On Thursday afternoon the foreman appraoched the young man and said, "You can pick up your paycheck on the way out today." The young man was shocked and asked, "I thought you paid on Firday?" "Normally wedo," answered the foreman, "But we're letting you go today because you're fallen behind. You just aren't cutting down enough trees. You were in first place on Monday but dropped to last by Wednesday."
"But I'm a hard worker," the young man objected. "I arrive first, leave last, and even have worked through my breaks!" The foreman knew what the young man said was true and thought about the situation for a moment. A thought crossed his mind and he asked, "Have you been sharpening your axe?" the young man replied, "I've been working too hard to take the time."
Are you like the young man? Too busy... no time to sharpen your axe?
Take time off to spend time with God.
Have time for yourselve, think through things...
Time for you to sharpen your axe.
