Sharpen Your Axe

Years ago a young lunberjack asked the foreman of a logging crew for a job. The foreman replied, "Well, let's see if you're good enough to work for me. Cut down that tree." The young man stepped forward and skillfully cut the tree down. The foreman was impressed and exclaimed, "You can start Monday!"

Monday, Tuesday, Wenesday and Thursday rolled by. On Thursday afternoon the foreman appraoched the young man and said, "You can pick up your paycheck on the way out today." The young man was shocked and asked, "I thought you paid on Firday?" "Normally wedo," answered the foreman, "But we're letting you go today because you're fallen behind. You just aren't cutting down enough trees. You were in first place on Monday but dropped to last by Wednesday."

"But I'm a hard worker," the young man objected. "I arrive first, leave last, and even have worked through my breaks!" The foreman knew what the young man said was true and thought about the situation for a moment. A thought crossed his mind and he asked, "Have you been sharpening your axe?" the young man replied, "I've been working too hard to take the time."

Are you like the young man? Too busy... no time to sharpen your axe?
Take time off to spend time with God.
Have time for yourselve, think through things...
Time for you to sharpen your axe.

Transformation

Was preparing for tonight's sharing...
and the topic - TRANSFORMATION

and

Came across this passage...

Ivan McGuire died at the age of 35. His death at a young age was not due to an automobile accident or from terminal illness. He was not murdered, nor did he commit suicide. The skydiver forgot to put on his parachute before he jumped out of an airplane.

McGuire, who aspired to be the best sky-diving photographer in the country, evidently was so excited over filming some other skydivers that he just failed to put on his parachite. Since he was a veteran of over 800 jumps, he may not have been as careful as a novice would have been to check and recheck all of his equipment.

It is hard to imagine that a seasoned sky-diver could forget to put on his parachute!

Few thoughts that bug me after read this passage;
1. am i too comfortable at where i am right now and did not guard my heart?
2. did i unbuckle my belt of truth? am i still holding my breastplate of righteousness?

I guess sometimes when we are in a situation or a place for too long we tend to get use to you and did not do a check on our equipments.
Got to remind myself to check my equipments for safety purposes =)

New HOMEY

Oh ya.. this is my new house.
My room is facing the church.

Going to have new neighbor soon. I am so excited.
I really hope we can be friend with the new neighbor. *Finger cross*

Frontdesk

Am sitting at the Lobby, enjoying the free wifi service.
Sitting at the frontdesk of Genting View Resort is a young malay lady. I wonder what time her shift ends.
Those people that are on the night shift, have to stay up... attend to the needs of the customer anytime, WITH A SMILE.... OK, the frontdesk lady isn't that friendly. She was throwing tantrum. Is she realized that I am here? hmmmm...

Today was not my best day.
Lunch was not ok, technical side was not ok... and the toilet!!! it's dirty! but towards the end of the day, they at least clean the toilet more frequent. and drinking water was enough for everyone... but now the hall is really messy with our normal communion thing.

Hopefully by tomorrow the housekeeping people will be able to clean it on time for us. Tomorrow we will be checking out. and I really look forward to go home! Can't wait to be home. I miss my mom, my room and elephant. Can't sleep well here... and the blanket, i miss my blanket at home.

Life Impact ministry conducted church game for us. I am really impress on how they put the whole church into a board game!!! They also have created others games - life game, mission game etc etc... very interesting.

BTW... Kaz is dragging a "dead fish"

Leadership retreat

We checked in at 4pm. I suppose to be at the resort by 3. But because of some barriers... etc etc ended arriving at the resort at 3:30pm. Many of us arrived around that time. I was rushing like mad. That is not suppose to happen. But thank God i have everything planned out in my mind, so when i arrived, i just go according to plan. screw up here and there, but still manageable i guess.

Church game is really interesting. I thought they are very interesting. and very creative =)

The hall was erm... not in a satisfactory condition =( first night tripped, but they manage to get the electricity up, but on 2nd day... sigh, it's a sad story. Toilet no lights, walk way no lights. But the resort respond not too bad la, they quite efficient, considering it's raya... Quite kesian also those people that need to work. Can't go back to spend time with family.

Me on the other hand, get to know some teens. They are cool. Get to know Sul Wen, Eunice, Sharmyne, Nicholas, and others. They are so playful!!! and hor, they build the best church - in Church Game.

It's good retreat... but then I was dead tired at the end of the retreat, and on the last day i was super stress. sigh... next time i should learn to be more relax.
